Northeast and adjoining eastern India are witnessing mostly subdued monsoon conditions, with only pockets of heavy rainfall. Isolated spots in Arunachal Pradesh may see extremely heavy showers of over 21 cm on August 8, while parts of Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura could get short-lived intense rain spells on Thursday and Friday. Another brief wet phase is likely for Assam and Meghalaya around August 12–13, once a fresh low-pressure system forms over the Bay of Bengal and moves inland.
The hill states of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand will see scattered heavy showers between August 7 and 13, with rain picking up in the later days. Parts of Uttar Pradesh are expected to join in the wet spell from August 10. Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim may get isolated heavy showers on August 7 and 11, while Bihar and Tamil Nadu could see brief rain on August 8. Meanwhile, much of central India and Rajasthan will remain largely dry for the next few days due to prevailing break-monsoon conditions.

Elsewhere, moderate to heavy showers were reported in parts of Assam, Tamil Nadu, and Himachal Pradesh, with lighter rain across eastern Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Odisha, Jharkhand, Telangana, and sub-Himalayan West Bengal.
In Delhi-NCR, partly cloudy skies will prevail with the chance of stray evening or night showers. Daytime temperatures will hover between 36–38°C until August 8 before easing to the low-30s over the weekend. A more significant revival of monsoon rains for the capital is likely only in the second half of August, once the Bay of Bengal system strengthens.
