Delhi Rains Update: No Showers for Fifth Straight Day, Heat Builds Up
Delhi has gone without rain for the fifth consecutive day, with none of the city’s observatories recording any showers in the past 24 hours. The prolonged dry spell has pushed up day temperatures — Safdarjung, Palam, and Lodhi Road all crossed 35°C after a gap of 10 days. Safdarjung logged 35.8°C, the highest for the first week of August and nearly 2°C above normal.
FORECAST FOR DAYS AHEAD:
- Mercury to stay above 35°C till August 10, slight drop expected over the weekend
- Mostly dry weather with only stray showers in some NCR pockets
- Monsoon revival likely in the second half of August, post 15th–16th, with decent showers

- Last 5 days: No rain recorded at Safdarjung, Palam, or Lodhi Road
- Monsoon trough currently lies north of Delhi, near the Himalayan foothills
- No significant system supporting rain activity at present
