The weather system over the country:

The low-pressure area now lies over north Chhattisgarh and adjoining east Madhya Pradesh, with an associated cyclonic circulation extending up to 5.8 km above mean sea level. It is likely to continue moving west-northwestwards into central Madhya Pradesh during the next 24 hours and gradually weaken.

The monsoon trough at mean sea level now passes through Bikaner, Kota, the center of the low-pressure area over north Chhattisgarh–Madhya Pradesh, Jharsuguda, and then southeastwards towards the east-central Bay of Bengal.

A cyclonic circulation lies over the northeast Arabian Sea and adjoining Saurashtra–Kutch region between 3.1 and 7.6 km above mean sea level.

An offshore trough is active and extends from south Gujarat to the north Kerala coast, maintaining moisture inflow along the western coast.

A shear zone is present around latitude 20°N between 3.1 and 5.8 km above mean sea level, providing additional support for convective activity across central India.

Weather Activity in the last 24 hours:

During the last 24 hours, heavy to very heavy rainfall occurred over parts of Konkan & Goa, the south Gujarat coast, and pockets of east Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.

Moderate to heavy showers were reported in coastal Karnataka, Vidarbha, Odisha, and northeast India, including Assam and Meghalaya.

Light to moderate rains occurred over Jharkhand, Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Telangana, Kerala, and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

Scattered light rain was observed in Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi NCR, interior Karnataka, and Madhya Maharashtra.

Temperatures remained above normal in west Rajasthan and Gujarat, while eastern and central parts saw a 2–3°C drop due to cloudiness and rainfall.

Forecast for the next 2 days:

During the next 24 hours, heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over the Gujarat region, south Rajasthan, parts of Madhya Pradesh, and Konkan & Goa.

Light to moderate rain with a few heavy spells may occur over Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Odisha, northeast India, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and coastal Karnataka.

Fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall is expected over Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, eastern Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala, and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

Isolated light rainfall is possible in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, west Rajasthan, interior Karnataka, Madhya Maharashtra, and Rayalaseema.

Weather in Tamil Nadu, parts of interior Karnataka, and the northwestern deserts of Rajasthan is likely to remain generally dry or with only isolated activity.
