A Western Disturbance is seen as a cyclonic circulation over North Pakistan and adjoining Punjab between 3.1 and 4.5 km above mean sea level, with a trough in the middle and upper tropospheric westerly winds. Its axis at 5.8 km above mean sea level now runs roughly along longitude 72°E to the north of latitude 25°N.
An induced cyclonic circulation is present over North-East Punjab and adjoining areas, extending up to 1.5 km above mean sea level.
A trough extends from South Kerala to the south Karnataka coast.
A fresh Western Disturbance is likely to affect the Western Himalayan region from the night of February 5, while another Western Disturbance is expected to impact the region from the night of February 8.
